A phone that “sees” more helps visually impaired people better “see” the world around them thanks to a special application created for which AI has been taught to recognize on a person’s face 7 universal emotions: happiness, sadness, fear, contempt, anger, distaste, recognizable in different cultural circles. The goal of the campaign accompanying the launch of the Mate PRO 20 phone with the most powerful AI processor on the market was to show how AI works in practice. The solution is m. in. Better processing and description and recognition of the image in the lens.
The process of creating
We produced a documentary showing three touching stories of people from different parts of the world using the app in their relationships with loved ones and their reactions to “hearing” the emotions of their loved ones. We accompanied Robert from Poland, Mustafa from Turkey and Mirjana from Sweden with the camera at important moments in their lives, observing how the app helps them strengthen their relationships with their loved ones.
The Huawei Facing Emotions app translates emotions into sounds and allows blind and visually impaired people to “see” emotions and enrich their experience during a face-to-face conversation with elements of non-verbal communication. Example:
